LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Identify risk factors associated with the initiation or maintenance of chronic opioid therapy.
  2. Provide decision-making strategies that consider non-opioid pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies for management of chronic pain.
  3. Apply evidence-based strategies to clinical practice for managing complex patients with acute and chronic pain
  4. Employ key diagnostic and treatment techniques for the management of pain.
  5. Address common clinical challenges in the management of acute and chronic pain.
  6. Evaluate and debate new trends, techniques, therapies, diagnostic procedures, and the legal issues confronting a NY practitioner in 2020.
  7. Apply evidence-based strategies to clinical practice for performing behavioral evaluations for chronic pain patients who are candidates for spinal cord stimulation.
  8. Assemble a valuable network of colleagues active in the field of pain medicine.

ACCREDITATION

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and the New York State Pain Society (NYSPS).  Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation Statement – Amedco LLC designates this live activity for a maximum of 17.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM for physicians, 17.75 contact hours for nurses and 17.75 knowledge-based contact hours for pharmacists. Learners should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The Society has a special rate of $169 a night standard room/ $299 a night suite (plus taxes)  at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel, 80  West Red Oak Lane, West Harrison, NY.  This room block sells out every year so be sure to book early and before March 5, 2020.  Call the hotel directly and mention the NY State Pain Society.  Telephone:  914-694-5400.  Please note that if you book a hotel room and then you cancel within 30 days of the meeting, you will  be charged your hotel room rate for up to your full stay as the fee for cancellation. 

Payment for your full stay is due at the time of booking.  Please note that the society may incur a fee should you cancel within 30 days of the meeting so please book early and please do not cancel. Should you have to cancel within 30 days of the meeting, please email the society at Robin@nypainsociety.org so that she may attempt to find another attendee who needs a room thereby mitigating your  cancellation fee for the full amount of the stay. The society cannot guarantee a replacement and will make a reasonable inquiry to assist you.  This policy is required because the Society may incur fees for a cancellation within 30 days of the meeting.

Cancellations received before March 5, 2020 will receive a refund less a processing fee of $50.  After March 5, 2020, you may modify your registration and also substitute another individual should you be unable to attend.  After March 5, 2020, please contact the Society regarding any substitution.  There are no refunds after March 5, 2020.  Thank you
