The New York State Pain Society in compliance with the guidelines of the State of New York is pleased to be offering a Prescriber Education Course in Pain Management, Palliative Care, and Addiction. 

The course is June 20, 2017 at the SUNY Global Center, New York, New York.  You can attend live or simulcast online from your home or office.

The mandatory course is designed for prescribers licensed under Title Eight of the Education Law in New York who have a DEA registration number to prescriber controlled substances; including medical residents who prescribe controlled substances under a facility DEA registration number. This includes individuals prescribing under an institutional DEA license.

Those prescribers must complete at least three (3) hours of course work or training in pain management, palliative care, and addiction.  In some instances, the course must be completed by July 1, 2017 and once every 3 years thereafter.

This course is free of charged to any New York affected prescriber. 

The course can be attended as a live activity or watched as a simulcast online event from anywhere on June 20. Additional information as to simulcast site will be provided at registration. 

The ACCME Accredited Joint Provider for this course is Kern Augustine PC.  The New York State Pain Society will be providing the expert faculty for the course in the following mandated topics:

  4. Managing Acute Pain

Online Simucast viewers will be sent a SurveyMonkey that must be completed by the REGISTERED viewer.  No credits can be awarded to individuals who have not registered and attended this course.
